‘Night Patrol’ Trailer: A Politically Charged Cop Thriller with a Vampire Twist

Los Angeles is about to reveal a darker, more dangerous side in Night Patrol, with the newly released trailer offering the first glimpse of a film that dives headfirst into the city’s housing projects—where loyalty, survival, and trust are tangled in a tense, unforgiving world.

From the mind of festival alumnus Ryan Prows (“The Penguin” co-writer), Night Patrol marks his second feature and is a wild, undeniably politically charged dive into the LA police force’s darkest corners.

The film follows an LAPD officer (Jermaine Fowler – StingAppofeniacs) who’s forced to drop his prejudices and team up with the very street gangs he once saw as enemies. His uneasy alliance is driven by the discovery of a disturbing secret within a local police task force — so sinister it threatens to tear the community apart.

At the heart of the film is Fowler, supported with a stellar ensemble cast including Justin Long (Barbarian), RJ Cyler (The Harder They Fall), Freddie Gibbs (Down with the King), CM Punk (Girls on the Third Floor), YG (White Boy Rick), Flying Lotus (Ash), Dermot Mulroney (Scream IV), Jon Oswald (Lowlife), and Nicki Micheaux (“The Shield”).

Prows co-write the script with Shaye OgbonnaTim Cairo, and Jake Gibson.

The film received its world premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest, where it drew strong early praise. RogerEbert.com hailed it as “an original, ambitious piece of work,” while Bloody Disgusting gave kudos to the cop-movie-meets-vampire tale for having “its finger on the pulse of today’s social politics” and for delivering “strong performances.”

Following its successful festival run, Night Patrol will receive a theatrical release on January 16, 2026.
