Aaron Eckhart Interview: Back on the K-9 Beat in Action-Packed and Emotionally Charged ‘Muzzle: City of Wolves’

Aaron Eckhart is back on four-pawed patrol in Muzzle: City of Wolves, the surprise sequel to 2023’s gritty K-9 crime thriller Muzzle. Set for a US theatrical release on 14 November 2025 via RLJE Films, the film promises to take an even bigger bite out of the action genre.

Directed once again by John Stalberg Jr. (Bad Hombres, Crypto), Eckhart reprises his role as Jake Rosser, a former K-9 officer grappling with PTSD while trying to maintain some semblance of calm in his personal life. That fragile peace is shattered when a masked gang, led by the enigmatic Totec, crashes into his world, reigniting both emotional and ballistic battles. Joining Rosser is Argos, a no-nonsense K-9 partner with a snarl to match, as the duo navigates a crime-soaked underworld filled with drug rings, corrupt officials, and the lingering echoes of trauma.

Ahead of the film’s release, CinemaChords spoke with Eckhart about stepping back into Rosser’s skin, the complexities of a character bound so closely to his K-9 partner, and the ways City of Wolves looks to broaden the emotional terrain alongside the action.

RLJE Films will release Muzzle: City of Wolves in theaters on November 14.
