Entertainment Squad Releases Twisted Revenge Shocker ‘MOTHERLY’ on DVD May 3

In the wake of last year’s buzzy world premiere at FrightFest 2021 and a strong digital and on-demand release last November, filmmaker Craig David Wallace‘s (“Slasher,” “Todd and the Book of Pure Evil”) twisted tale of revenge, Motherly, will hit DVD tomorrow, May 3, under Entertainment Squad through its genre distribution label The Horror Collective.

From a screenplay written by Wallace and longtime collaborator Ian Malone, and starring Lora Burke (For The Sake Of Vicious), Tessa Kozma (A Christmas Carousel), Kristen MacCulloch (Psycho Goreman), Nick Smyth (For The Sake Of Vicious) and Colin Paradine (For The Sake Of Vicious), The film centers on single mother Kate (Burke), who will do whatever she can to protect her daughter Beth (Kozma) from a dark and disturbing past that haunts them both. Despite having moved to start a new life on an isolated farm in the countryside, Kate soon starts to sense something suspicious going on around her. No sooner are her suspicions confirmed than a fight for survival ensues and Kate’s maternal instincts are put to the test.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s DVD release of the film, we thought it the perfect time to recover Howard Gorman’s interview with the film’s co-writer and director, Craig David Wallace, and lead actress, Lora Burke, who discussed how the film serves as a dissection of the confounding and conflicting emotions people experience on becoming a parent and the extent to which people will go to protect and avenge their loved ones.
