Netflix Announces Global Release Date for ‘PERSUASION’ Starring Dakota Johnson

Netflix has today announced the global release date for Carrie Cracknell‘s film adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion” as well as revealing a selection of exclusive first-look stills.

Helmed by Cracknell (A Doll’s House), from a screenplay adaptation written by Alice Victoria Winslow (“Hot Spot”) and Ron Bass (“Being Nixon: A Man Divided”), Persuasion stars Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey, Suspiria), Cosmo Jarvis (Calm With Horses, Lady Macbeth), Suki Waterhouse (Assassination Nation, Seance), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old, Jupiter Ascending), Mia McKenna-Bruce (“Get Even,” The Rebels) with Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I, Logan) and Henry Golding (The Gentlemen, A Simple Favor).

This adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel of the same name centers on Anne Elliot, an nonconforming woman with modern sensibilities who lives with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy. When Frederick Wentworth – the dashing one she let get away – crashes back into her life, Anne must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.

Persuasion is produced by Andrew Lazar for the Mad Chance banner, Christina Weiss Lurie for Fourth & Twenty Eight Films, and MRC Film. Serving Executive Producers are Elizabeth Cantillon (Bisous Pictures), Michael Constable, David Fliegel.

Netflix will release the film globally this coming July 15, 2022 and we’ll leave you with the aforementioned first-look images.
