Twentieth Century Fox are set to revive the terrifying classic tale Tobe Hooper with a fresh perspective in 3D. Directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House) and written by David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole), POLTERGEIST will be released in UK and Ireland cinemas on Friday 22nd May 2015.

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (Spider-ManThe Grudge) and director Gil Kenan contemporise the 1982 supernatural chiller to tell the story of a the Bowan family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces.  When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.

Poltergeist stars Sam Rockwell (Moon), Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married), Jared Harris (Mad Men) and Jane Adams (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). But with Sam Raimi (Evil Dead), Roy Lee (The Woman in Black) and Rob Tapert (Drag Me to Hell) behind the filmmaking curtain we suspect that Poltergeist will terrify audiences to come.
