Brainstorm Media is all set to release John Rosman‘s high stakes feature directorial debut New Life in U.S. theaters and on demand this Friday, May 3rd, 2024. The film will also be available in the UK on digital download from June 3.
Hailed by Fantasia film festival as one of the major discoveries of 2023, the film is written and directed by Rosman and produced by T. Justin Ross, producer of Shudder’s record-breaking hit The Mortuary Collection and the Judy Greer-starring Aporia, and Mike Marchlewski. The film is exec. produced by David Lawson Jr, whose credits include the Independent Spirit Award-nominated Sundance sensation Something in the Dirt and the critically acclaimed sci-fi shocker The Endless.
Starring Sonya Walger (“For All Mankind,” “Lost”), Hayley Erin (“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”) and Tony Amendola (Annabelle, Curse of Llorona), New Life follows a mysterious woman on the run (Erin) and the resourceful government ‘fixer’ (Walger) tasked with bringing her in, as she battles her body’s own personal struggles with ALS. As their two unique stories become inextricably linked and a trail of bodies begins to pile up, the stakes of the pursuit soon rise to apocalyptic proportions.
To celebrate the impending release of the film, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman and Ashley Northey interviewed Walger and Erin. In their insightful conversation, they peeled back the curtain on the film’s high-stakes premise to find out all about this high stake cat and mouse pursuit and what it is about this film that stands out from other films of its ilk.
