Yellow Days Announces New Album ‘Rock And A Hard Place’ and Global Tour Dates

After two years of musical evolution, Yellow Days (aka George van den Broek) returns with Rock And A Hard Place, his most focused and introspective work to date. The album, due out on February 13th, is a powerful 14-track journey blending retro-funk influences with van den Broek’s signature soul and raw emotion. The album’s first single, ‘Sharon,’ gives fans a taste of what’s to come – smooth, confident, and full of groove, with van den Broek’s voice now more powerful and refined than ever.

On the single, he says, “‘Sharon’ is about confiding in a female confidant and friend… a friend who believes in you despite your messy life.” It’s a perfect harbinger of the album’s themes: self-doubt, growth, and the urge to please others – while ultimately finding strength in following one’s own path. The album kicks off with ‘Roadkill,’ a haunting instrumental piece inspired by a real-life moment that captures the fragility of life. From there, Rock And A Hard Place explores the emotional tension between pleasing others and staying true to oneself, a journey van den Broek reflects on as “necessary” for his artistic evolution.

The album is a mix of old-school funk (think Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone) and modern sensibilities, creating a timeless yet distinctly contemporary sound. In his own words, “It feels like it was all worth it to me. This feels like the most serious music I’ve made in a long time.”

In support of Rock And A Hard Place, Yellow Days will be hitting the road this spring for a UK and European tour (dates and venues below). Tickets are now available HERE. He will also tour the USACanada and Mexico – all details can be found HERE.
