Trailer for Corin Hardy’s ‘Whistle’: The Cursed Aztec Artifact That Summons One’s Own Demise

The first full trailer for Independent Film Company‘s Whistle, the forthcoming supernatural shocker from Corin Hardy (The Nun), has dropped, offering a more extensive taste of this story steeped in ancient Aztec terror.

Written by Owen Egerton (Blood Fest), the film expands one of his short stories, presenting a premise that blends psychological suspense reminiscent of The Ring with the fatalistic inevitability of Final Destination.

The story revolves around a group of high school students who unknowingly awaken a mysterious artifact — the Aztec Death Whistle. Blowing the whistle summons a terrifying encounter with their own impending deaths.

The cast mixes rising talent with familiar genre faces. Dafne Keen (“His Dark Materials”) leads, supported by Sophie Nélisse (“Yellowjackets”), Sky YangJhaleil SwabyAli SkovbyePercy Hynes White (“Wednesday”), Michelle Fairley (“Game of Thrones”), and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead).

A Canadian-Irish co-production, Whistle is produced by David Gross (Room) for No Trace Camping and Macdara Kelleher (The Lobster) for Wild Atlantic Pictures.

Whistle will open in theaters this coming February 6.
