‘THE RULE OF JENNY PEN’: A Chilling Thriller Set to Unveil Dark Secrets in a Retirement Home – UK Release Date

Shudder and Vertigo Releasing are set to bring the chilling thriller The Rule of Jenny Pen to UK and Ireland cinemas on March 14. The film stars Academy Award nominee John Lithgow (The World According to Garp, “Dexter”), Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pear), and George Henrare (Once Were Warriors, The Legend of Johnny Lingo).

The story follows arrogant Judge Stefan Mortensen (Rush), who, after suffering a near-fatal stroke, is left partially paralyzed and confined to a retirement home. Initially resistant to his surroundings, Mortensen soon finds himself at odds with his seemingly gentle roommate, Dave Crealy (Lithgow). As Mortensen settles into the home, he uncovers the sinister behavior of Crealy, who plays a disturbing game called “The Rule of Jenny Pen” and uses his dementia doll as a tool of cruelty. What starts as seemingly innocent torment quickly escalates into something far darker. Unable to get help from the staff, Mortensen takes matters into his own hands, determined to stop Crealy’s reign of terror.

Directed by James Ashcroft (Coming Home in the Dark), The Rule of Jenny Pen has already earned recognition at prestigious festivals, including Sitges and Fantastic Fest, where Geoffrey Rush received the Best Actor award and Ashcroft won Best Director.

The Rule of Jenny Pen is set for release in UK and Ireland on March 14, with IFC Films and Shudder bringing the film to US audiences on March 7.
