Strategically straddling Friday the 13th and Valentine’s Day, Netflix has debuted the first official teaser for “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen,” the upcoming horror series from creator and showrunner Haley Z. Boston, set to premiere March 26.

If Carrie is horror’s exploration of a young woman’s coming-of-rage, and Rosemary’s Baby examines the terrors of impending motherhood, “Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” turns its gaze toward the anxieties of becoming a wife. Rachel (Camila Morrone – “Daisy Jones & The Six”, Marmalade) has only five days until her wedding, and alongside her fiancé Nicky (Adam DiMarco – “Undertone”, “The White Lotus”), she travels to his family’s secluded vacation home for an intimate ceremony. Across the series, Boston delves into the doubts, fears, and subtle tensions that arise in the days leading up to a marriage, blending psychological suspense, dark humor, and horror to explore the stakes of lifelong commitment.

The ensemble cast also features Jennifer Jason Leigh (Single White Female, Possessor), Ted Levine (The Silence of the Lambs), Gus Birney (“The Last Frontier”), Jeff Wilbusch (“The Calling”), Karla Crome (“Under the Dome”), and Zlatko Burić (Wolfs).

Boston, who previously wrote for “Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor”, serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series is also executive produced by the Duffer Brothers, Hilary Leavitt, and Andrea Sperling. Weronika Tofilska directs four episodes and executive produces, with Axelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann rounding out the directing team.

All eight episodes of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen” will be available on Netflix March 26, and the teaser marks the first glimpse audiences have of the series’ unique blend of psychological tension, dark humor, and horror.
