Serial Killer Bait, Shark Horror Bite: Sean Byrne’s ‘DANGEROUS ANIMALS’ Trailer Drops

IFC Films and Shudder have just thrown out the chum, unleashing the official trailer for Sean Byrne‘s Dangerous Animals, sure to lure viewers in with its visceral plunge into the depths of a nightmare where the ocean’s apex predator meets humanity’s most depraved.

Byrne, known for his unflinching horror in The Devil’s Candy and The Loved Ones, returns with a film that promises to leave audiences gasping for air – both from the terror on screen and the sheer audacity of its premise.

Byrne directs from a script by Nick Lepard (Osgood Perkins’ Keeper) and the film stars Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad), Hassie Harrison (“Yellowstone”), and Josh Heuston (Dune: Prophecy)

Dangerous Animals tells the story of Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, who is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat. Zephyr must devise an escape before the killer carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below. Adding to the tension, Zephyr’s new love interest, Moses, realizes she is missing and sets out to find her, only to be captured by the same deranged murderer.

With its unique blend of shark thriller and serial killer horror, Dangerous Animals, exclusively in theaters June 6, 2025, is poised to be a summer release that will leave audiences swimming in terror.
