Pop Will Eat Itself: Industrial Punk Warriors Engineer a Sui Generis Revolution with New Album ‘Delete Everything’

Spawned in the mid-eighties Midlands and fuelled by a diet of grebo scuzz, punk sneer and breakbeat chaos, Pop Will Eat Itself are back — and more ravenous than ever. The self-styled architects of “electronic, punk, alternative hip-hop, hybrid music for fucking, fighting and smoking cigars” return to the fray with Delete Everything, a riotous splatter of ideas that proves they’re still chomping through pop culture and vomiting it back in glorious, technicolour anarchy. The record is set to detonate on October 3, 2025.

On their eighth transmission from the pop wasteland, Pop Will Eat Itself refine, weaponise and gleefully dismantle their molten cocktail of industrial rock, loop-da-loop techno, gonzoid hip hop and punk insurrection into a barrage of sci-fi anthems for a civilisation on the brink. They still look and sound like they’ve jackknifed straight out of the irradiated pages of 2000 AD, with Graham Crabb and Mary Byker trading vocals like pogoing Duracell bunnies to the itching, compulsive beats around them. Davey Bennett rumbles in the subterranean depths, Cliff Hewitt hammers out the mechanised beats, while Adam Mole strafes the mix with guitar shrapnel and wields his keyboard with a delinquent glee.

Still restless, still orbiting a singular sonic universe of their own design, Pop Will Eat Itself have deleted everything to engineer a sui generis new sound system from scratch.

Delete Everything is available to pre-order here now and comes in an arsenal of collector formats: Test Pressings, Bookpack CDs, radioactive punk vinyl and a Dystopian Explosion colour vinyl, the latter of which comes packing a bonus 7” artifact.
