Mutant Presents Limited-Edition Physical Release of ‘INSIDE OUT 2’ Soundtrack on Vinyl

Mutant, in partnership with Walt Disney Records, has announced the physical release of Andrea Datzman‘s score for the Disney and Pixar blockbuster Inside Out 2. Datzman is known for her work on the Disney and Pixar short films Carl’s Date and Dug Days and the television series “Alcatraz.”

Datzman’s score for Inside Out 2 builds upon the iconic musical landscape created by Michael Giacchino for the original film, weaving together the sweeping emotional earworm piano melodies that captured Riley’s emotions with new, anxiety-tinged strings that reflect her struggles as a teenager. Her swirling feelings form a rock-and-roll backline, punctuated by the swelling strings of her core memories, crafting the perfect poignant soundtrack to Riley’s journey of self-discovery and belonging.

Commenting on the score to Inside Out 2, Mo Shafeek, Mutant Co-Founder says that it is, “as playful and unpredictable as you’d expect for a story about the brain of a teenager … Andrea Datzman brilliantly blends Riley’s past (the iconic melodies of the first film) time with Riley’s present, creating a score so dynamic and infectious, it feels like it could be blasted from the speakers at a stadium pop concert.”

This limited-edition vinyl release features 2x 140-gram colored discs, housed in a gatefold sleeve with artwork by Nicole Gustafsson, and includes liner notes by Datzman. The Inside Out 2 Original Motion Picture soundtrack on vinyl is available for pre-order now on Mutant’s webstore here.
