Magnet Releasing is all set to released Man Finds Tape – an uncomfortably convincing, digital-age supernatural shocker – in select theaters and on digital platforms this December 5, 2025. The film marks the feature debut of Texas-born filmmakers Peter Hall and Paul Gandersman.
Written and directed by Hall and Gandersman, Man Finds Tape spins an disturbing tale rooted deep in small-town Texas. The story centres on Lucas Page, a YouTuber who shoots to viral fame after sharing a mysterious run of videos he claims are unearthed home movies from his childhood. As online doubts intensify, Lucas turns to his estranged sister, Lynn, with a newly discovered clip: a broad-daylight murder captured on surveillance cameras in their hometown of Larkin, Texas.
What begins as a tense, reluctant reunion between the siblings soon unravels into something far more menacing. Their search for the truth drags long-buried local secrets to the surface – unearthing a malevolent force that has shadowed Larkin for generations, with unsettling ties to the town’s charismatic yet disquieting reverend.
The film features stars Kelsey Pribilski, William Magnuson, John Gholson, Brian Villalobos, and Nell Kessler.
Ahead of the film’s release, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman sat down with Hall and Gandersman to discuss how they navigated the familiar boundaries of the found-footage format while deliberately pushing against its conventions to carve out something fresh within the faux-documentary realm. The duo also reflected on balancing procedural investigation with creeping supernatural dread, and on developing a methodical approach to fear grounded in authenticity, atmosphere, and a keen understanding of the digital spaces where modern anxieties thrive. The result is Man Finds Tape: one of the most assured and devastating horror debuts in recent memory.
Magnet Releasing releases Man Finds Tape in select theaters and on digital platforms on December 5, 2025.
