INTERVIEW: Fernanda Urrejola Talks Chilling Serial Killer Shocker ‘YOU CAN’T RUN FOREVER’

Lionsgate will release director Michelle Schumacher‘s suspenseful cat-and-mouse thriller You Can’t Run Forever this Friday. The film reunites the Oscar-winning J.K. Simmons with the filmmaker after their previous collaborations on the films I’m Not Here (2017) and 3 Geezers! (2013).

Directed by Schumacher, from a script she co-wrote with Carolyn Carpenter, the film focuses on Miranda (Isabelle Anaya – Donny’s Bar Mitzvah), a young woman dealing with anxiety following a past tragedy. When she finds herself the prey of a serial killer (Simmons) in a chilling game of cat-and-mouse in the woods, Miranda unearths a newfound inner strength.

The film also stars Fernanda Urrejola (Cry MachoBlue Miracle), Allen Leech (Downton AbbeyBohemian Rhapsody), Graham Patrick Martin (“Major Crimes,” “Two and a Half Men”), and Olivia Simmons (Honor StudentJunk Food).

In anticipation of the film releasing in theaters this May 17, 2024, CinemaChords’ Ashley Northey sat down with Fernanda Urrejola to discuss working with an entire family on a feature, and how the film addresses mental health from two very different perspectives.
