Heather Graham’s ‘CHOSEN FAMILY’ Trailer: A Poignantly Humorous Exploration of the Ties That Bind Us

A toast to no more basket cases!

Brainstorm Media has debuted the official trailer for Heather Graham‘s (Half Magic) sophomore directorial feature, the uplifting and genuinely reflective romantic dramedy, Chosen Family.

Penned and directed by Graham, Chosen Family follows Ann (Graham – The Hangover, The Guru), an obsessively altruistic yoga teacher whose pursuit of inner peace is persistently derailed by her dysfunctional family and unfulfilling romantic life. To make matters worse, Ann does everything she can to help save her sister, Clio (Julia StilesMona Lisa Smile, 10 Things I Hate About You), from the clutches of addiction, with disastrous results.

Eager to help, Ann’s friends set her up with Steve (John Brotherton – “Fuller House”, Fast & Furious 7), a divorced father with an adorable seven-year-old daughter named Lily (Ella Grace Helton – “Sweet Magnolias”). Ann finds Lily instantly adorable, but Lily’s response to Ann is less than enthusiastic. The closer Ann and Steve become, the more jealous and competitive Lily becomes, leaving Ann at a loss as to how to win both Lily and Steve over, given that, in Steve’s eyes, his daughter can do no wrong.

The film’s ensemble cast is rounded out with Andrea Savage (“Tulsa King”, You People), Michael Gross (“Family Ties”, Tremors), Julie Halston (Addams Family Values), Odessa Rae (Half Magic, Hard Candy) and Thomas Lennon (“Reno 911!”, “Lethal Weapon”).

Chosen Family is produced by  Chad A. Verdi, Andre Relis, Michael A. Nickles, Michelle Verdi, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba, Heather Graham, Anthony Gudas, and Chris Collins.

Find out if Ann is finally able to prioritize her own needs as a new romantic interest enters her life when the film releases in theaters and On Demand this October 11, 2024.
