From Wigan to the World: The Lilacs’ Ollie Anglesea Talks New EP ‘The 395 (To Forever)’

Wigan’s indie-rock outfit, The Lilacs, are ready to kick off a major new chapter in their career with the release of their debut EP, The 395 (To Forever), dropping tomorrow, March 21st, via Scruff of the Neck Records.

Since forming in Wigan, The Lilacs have quickly become known for their infectious tunes and high-energy live shows. With a sound that blends the best of classic indie-rock and modern influences, the band creates music that resonates with listeners who crave both nostalgia and fresh, exciting energy. The Lilacs have a unique ability to capture the highs and lows of youth—those wild, carefree moments alongside moments of deeper introspection—and channel them into their music. With The 395 (To Forever), they’re taking everything to the next level, offering a bold, cohesive collection of tracks that showcase their growth as a band.

Ahead of the EP’s release, we had the chance to catch up with frontman Ollie Anglesea. Ollie gave us an exciting sneak peek into what fans can expect from the new tracks, offering insights into how they came together to create a cohesive body of work. He also revealed a bit about the band’s plans for the near future, including their upcoming live shows in celebration of the EP’s release. The Lilacs will kick things off with an in-store tour before heading out on their biggest UK headline tour yet.

The EP is available for pre-order here, and you can get your hands on various physical formats, including two vinyl variants and a CD.
