First Trailer for Damien Chazelle’s Period Epic ‘BABYLON’ Makes a Scene

Paramount Pictures has just dropped the first official trailer for Damien Chazelle‘s (La La Land, Whiplash) period epic comedy-drama Babylon.

Directed and written by Chazelle, Babylon takes place in Los Angeles in the Jazz Age of the 1920s, during Hollywood’s transition from silent films to talkies. Featuring an ensemble cast including Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, Tobey Maguire, Olivia Wilde, Flea, Eric Roberts, Lukas Haas, and Jean Smart, the film tells a tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, tracing the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

The film is produced by Marc Platt, Matthew Plouffe, Olivia Hamilton, and executive produced by Michael Beugg, Tobey Maguire, Wyck Godfrey, Helen Estabrook, and Adam Siegel.

Babylon is in UK cinemas on January 20th 2023.

We’ll leave you with the aforementioned official trailer which features the original music track “Voodoo Mama” from Academy Award®-winning composer Justin Hurwitz.
