Fears Flourish into Paranoia in Trailer for XYZ Films’ Singular Supernatural Slasher ‘#FLOAT’

XYZ Films has just dropped the first offical trailer and poster for writer/director Zac Locke‘s directorial debut, the inventive take on supernatural slasher tropes, #float. Locke is a long-time producer whose extensive credits includes the 2018 sorority-killings shocker Black Christmas, the comedy-fantasy Country Gold, Vengeance, and The Voyeurs, starring Sydney Sweeney.

#float stars Kaya Coleman (The Sinners, Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders), Scarlett Sperduto (Those Who Walk Away), Grant Morningstar (Meathook), Kate Mayhew, Matt Wise, and Christina Nguyen (Lion) and tells the tale of the vivacious young vlogger Kali and her friends who head to the river for their annual float. This year, however, is the first time they have returned to the river since their friend overdosed and drowned the year before. Their partying turns deadly as a sinister paranormal force plunges them into a life and death struggle forcing them to face their own fears as they turn on each other – and proceed to die one by one.

#float releases on VOD and Digital Platforms this coming December 9, 2022 and, in the meantime we’ll leave you with the trailer which we’re sure will float your boat with its deft riff on classic ’80s slasher tropes while employing a modern sensibility.
