Expect the Unexpected in First Trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal-Lead Remake of 1989 Cult Classic, ‘ROAD HOUSE’

Following yesterday’s easter egg-laden poster for Doug Liman‘s (The Bourne Identity, Chaos Walking, Edge of Tomorrow) remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze-lead classic Road House, Prime Video ramps the anticipation up even higher with the first official trailer for the film.

Directed by Liman, from a script penned by Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) and Charles Mondry (who penned the forthcoming Dwayne Johnson vehicle Doc Savage), the film chronicles the trials and tribulations of an ex-UFC middleweight fighter (Jake Gyllenhaal) when he finds himself working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys where it soon becomes clear that things are not as they seem.

Gyllenhaal is joined by a huge ensemble cast including Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad, Fast X), Billy Magnussen (No Time To Die, Lift), Jessica Williams (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, “Shrinking”), Joaquim de Almeida (Fast X, Missing), Conor McGregor (making his feature film debut), Lukas Gage (“The White Lotus”, Smile 2), Beau Knapp (Little Dixie, The Guilty), Darren Barnet (Gran Turismo, Anyone But You), Travis Van Winkle (“FUBAR”, Friday the 13th), and Hannah Love Lanier.

Road House is set to come out of its corner when it debuts on Prime Video on March 21. In the meantime, we’ll leave you with the first trailer to see how many easter-eggs have been carefully peppered in and we’d love to hear how you think it looks set to hold up against the beloved original movie.
