Down the Rabbit Hole: Lily Sullivan on the Dark World of Conspiracy Theories in One-Hander Shocker ‘MONOLITH’

Matt Vesely‘s debut theatrical feature, the bold sci-fi shocker Monolith, is ready to creep into theaters, onto digital platforms, and under your skin this coming Friday, February 16.

Through the clever containment of a single location and only one on-screen character, this potent, disturbing and claustrophobic film raises questions concerning truth, privilege, conspiracy and the notion that each of us sees what we want to see – and believes what we believe. Truth is no longer the great monolith that underpins the world – power is.

Directed by Vesely, from a script penned by Lucy Campbell (“The Big Nothing”), Evil Dead Rise star Lily Sullivan stars as follows a a headstrong, disgraced journalist investigating a disturbing conspiracy theory in a last-ditch attempt to redeem her reputation. However, as all the evidence she uncovers leads her uncomfortably closer to home, she finds herself left to grapple with the lies at the heart of her own story.

Ahead of the film’s release, we caught up with Sullivan to discover the trials and tribulations of shooting a one-hander in a single location, and how a certain scene in her new movie is as bone-chilling as the most horrific moments in her previous film, Evil Dead Rise.
