DOVES Set to Make Long-Awaited Return to Manchester with ‘CONSTELLATIONS FOR THE LONELY’ Tour

Manchester band DOVES will embark on a full UK tour following the release of their recently announced forthcoming, sixth studio album, “Constellations For The Lonely,” in February next year. As part of the tour, the band will return to their hometown to perform at the modernist Aviva Studios, marking their first Manchester show in 15 years. The tour will also include a stop at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

As with three sold out intimate dates previously announced to take place at the end of this month, in Stoke, Birkenhead and Hebden Bridge, the band will be fronted by Andy and Jez Williams without Jimi Goodwin. Doves cancelled their 2021 touring plans to prioritize Goodwin’s health and wellbeing, and the singer remains focused on his recovery. In their recent live date announcement, the band stated that “Jimi’s health came first”, and Goodwin added that his current circumstances were “not compatible with a mad, city-to-city schedule.”

Last week, Doves announced “Constellations For The Lonely,” featuring the single “Renegade” fronted by Goodwin. The album comes four years after the release of their third UK Official Album Chart No.1 album, “The Universal Want.” During this time, the three-piece band reconvened for a combination of in-person and remote recording sessions.

“Constellations For The Lonely” has been confirmed for release on Fri 14 February 2025 with EMI North on multiple formats, including standard and special edition vinyl, CD, cassette and digital.

The album was written, recorded and produced by Doves between locations in Greater Manchester, North Wales and Cheshire with additional production from long-term collaborator, Dan Austin. “Constellations For The Lonely” not only follows “The Universal Want” but, also, the Mercury-nominated albums, “Lost Souls” (2000) and “The Last Broadcast” (2002), their second, successive UK Number One album, “Some Cities” (2005) and “Kingdom Of Rust” (2009).

Doves are renowned for rotating lead vocal duties between shows and albums, with Andy and Jez Williams taking the helm on live favorites “Words” and “Jetstream.” The 2025 tour dates will finally give fans the chance to see the band perform live again, after years of vocal demand for their return to the stage.

All of the confirmed Doves Constellations For The Lonely 2025 UK Tour dates are as follows:

Tickets for all dates go on general sale on Thu 21 November at 9.30am via links on the band’s official website at www.dovesofficial.com
