Do you fear what I fear? STUDIOCANAL’s In-house Genre Label, Sixth Dimension Drops First Trailer for ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night’ Reboot

The holiday season is set to turn blood red as STUDIOCANAL’s new genre label, Sixth Dimension, today dropped the international red band trailer for its upcoming Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot — along with confirmation that the film will hit UK and Irish cinemas on 12 December 2025.

The new take on the 1984 cult slasher marks the first theatrical release from Sixth Dimension, STUDIOCANAL’s in-house genre offshoot, and arrives in partnership with Cineverse.

Directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85), the film revisits the original’s pernicious premise: a boy who witnesses his parents’ murder by a killer dressed as Santa grows up to don the red suit himself, dispensing grisly festive “justice” on the naughty. This time, the yuletide carnage promises a modern twist, blending psychological tension, brutal slasher violence, a hint of the supernatural — and, unexpectedly, a touch of romance.

The cast includes Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) as Billy and Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) as Pamela, alongside Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson.

The project reunites original 1984 producers Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, who are joined by Jamie R. Thompson (New Dimension) and Erik Bernard, with Anthony Masi and Steven Schneider executive producing.

Jed Benedict, Head of STUDIOCANAL’s Sixth Dimension label, commented: “At Sixth Dimension, our mission is to find bold high concept genre movies from great storytellers. We found exactly that in Mike P. Nelson’s thrilling vision … This wildly entertaining reimagining will not only deliver on blood-splattered, axe-wielding festivities, but smuggles in a love story too. ‘Tis the season to be gory!”

“This film has strong IP and fan interest that we expect to translate globally,” added CINEVERSE, Chief Content Officer, Yolanda Macias. “We couldn’t be happier with STUDIOCANAL’s Sixth Dimension as our partner to bring this new vision of the iconic franchise to audiences around the world.”

Filmed earlier this year, Silent Night, Deadly Night is the latest in a recent wave of horror reboots — but with STUDIOCANAL’s backing, Sixth Dimension’s genre focus, and Nelson’s recent confident handling of the Wrong Turn franchise, there’s plenty reasons to believe this will deliver chill-fest cheer galore come December.

Silent Night, Deadly Night opens in UK and Irish cinemas on 12 December 2025.
