Comedy Central Sketch Series “DATING HORROR STORIES” Exposes Hilariously Harsh Truths of Modern Dating

Comedy Central has today debuted a new digital series, “Dating Horror Stories,” hosted by the charismatic rising comedic star Kyrah Gray and produced by Mother’s Best Child, the company behind Channel 4’s hit series “The B@IT.”

This fresh, eight-part digital sketch series from Comedy Central UK combines humor with social commentary on the modern dating landscape. Each episode centers around the experiences of a single Black woman, exploring the stereotypes and anxieties she faces when dating in the 21st century. The show features celebrity cameos from the likes of Munya Chawawa, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, and Ola Labib.

“The eight-part series “Dating Horror Stories” debuts exclusively on Comedy Central’s YouTube Channel, with the first episode, featuring Munya Chawawa, available to watch now (included below). Other guests featured through the series include Kemah Bob, Axel Blake, Hemah K, Demmy Ladipo, Karim Kamar, Faceinthenews, SimplySayo, Tàlàbí.

In discussing her role on the new sketch show, Gray said, “We’ve created something that we’re all super proud of that can hopefully give my dating comrades a little lift; hang in there, guys! Don’t take it too seriously – just send it to your situationship and laugh a little!”

The series was developed and commissioned by Amie Parker-Williams, who also serves as Executive Producer for MTVE Digital. Commenting on the new series order she said, “At Comedy Central, we’re huge fans of Kyrah and are excited to collaborate with her once again on this sketch series. By examining culture and courtship through a comedic lens, we offer our viewers a fresh perspective while exploring diverse experiences in the dating world — guaranteeing plenty of laughs along the way.”

Executive Producer Guy Davidson, said, “Working with Comedy Central UK and Kyrah on Dating Horror Stories has been nothing short of a dream. We hope that everyone enjoys watching Kyrah’s dating nightmare’s as much as we enjoyed recreating them!”
