Chauncey The Bear Will Never Leave You. Never. Ever. In New ‘IMAGINARY’ Trailer

Blumhouse, the genre-shaping banner behind recent hits Five Nights at Freddy’s and M3GAN, and Lionsgate Movies have gifted us a new trailer for Jeff Wadlow‘s (Cry WolfTruth or Dare) original shocker Imaginary which examines the nature of imaginary friends – and questions whether they are simply figments of childhood imagination, or if there is something far more sinister lurking in the shadows..

Directed by Wadlow, from a script he co-wrote with Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, the film centres on Jessica (DeWanda Wise) who, when she moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister. As Alice’s behaviour becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realise Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Imaginary opens in theaters on 8 March 2024, and in the meantime, we’ll leave you with the trailer, which introduces Chauncey the Bear, a character who is sure to leave as indelible a mark as Chucky, Annabelle, et al.
