Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2025 – Batch #25

A new week brings another batch of fresh discoveries — and once again, your sharp recommendations have helped shape a Noteworthy Nods playlist well worth pressing play on.

There’s a real mix in this week’s line-up: — from bruising alt-rock to infectious indie pop — and it’s fair to say there’s a bit of something for everyone. If you’ve been waiting for a decent excuse to get stuck into new music, this is it.

Here are a few of the tracks leading the charge:

Cast – ‘Guilt Trip’
Cast return with ‘Guilt Trip’, a track that bridges their classic melodic touch with something more grounded and soulful. The guitars shimmer with familiar confidence, while the rhythm section keeps things driving and lean. There’s a touch of gospel warmth in the closing moments that adds a new dimension — proof that experience hasn’t dulled their instinct for a great hook, just deepened it.

The Lemonheads – ‘58 Second Song’
The Lemonheads open their first album in almost twenty years with ‘58 Second Song’, a burst of noise and nerve that sets the tone perfectly. It’s scrappy and unpolished in all the right ways — the sound of a band playing because they still want to, not because they have to. Quick, loud, and very much still alive and kicking.

Fitzroy Holt – ‘Around the Wrekin’
‘Around the Wrekin’ finds Fitzroy Holt focused and assured. Thick riffs and a driving tempo carry his urgent vocal delivery, reflecting the energy of an artist making his mark and hinting at what might come next.

The Clause – ‘White Life Line’
The Clause make a bold statement with ‘White Life Line’, a standout from their debut album Victim of a Casual Thing. The song’s racing pulse and jagged guitar work carry a kind of wiry tension — urgent without feeling overblown. There’s an echo of early Arctic Monkeys in its sharp edges, but the swagger is entirely their own.

And that’s just scratching the surface. The full playlist runs just over an hour and is packed with new releases worth sticking with — whether you’re looking for something to soundtrack your weekend, or just need a bit of a musical reset.

Supporting new artists has always been part of what we’re about. Sharing a track you’ve come across, posting it on socials, or even just adding it to a playlist can go a long way. For artists trying to get their music out there, every bit of support helps.

So if you’ve discovered something we’ve missed, give us a nudge. Whether it’s in the comments, on InstagramFacebookX or via a quick message to Howard Gorman (whose DMs are wide open), we’re always keen to hear what’s next.

Alongside the weekly track picks, our Noteworthy section also features regular videocast interviews with emerging and established artists — the kind of talent we believe deserves your attention. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of The Slow Readers ClubThe Lottery WinnersThe LilacsStarsailorKyle FalconerCastShed SevenTurin BrakesEmbrace, and many more.
