Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2025 – Batch #23

After a brief break, we’re back with another round of sonic delights. Thanks to your sharp recommendations, our Noteworthy Nods playlist is packed with tracks you’ll want to hit repeat on. As always, your taste is spot on — and we’re here to help you discover even more of it.

This week’s picks run the gamut — from blistering alt-rock to irresistible indie pop — so there’s something for everyone. If you’ve been looking for the perfect reason to dive into fresh music, this is it.

Let’s take a look at just a few of the standouts:

First up, The Bluetones have dropped ‘London Weekend Television’, a crisp, unfussy slice of guitar pop. Melodic and measured, brimming with the band’s familiar shimmer, the track forms part of a run of EPs leading into a much-anticipated full album next year.

The Wombats, meanwhile, are back with ‘Holy Sugar’ — Described by Frontman Matthew “Murph” Murphy as having “a bit more sweat and swagger,” the track offers a raw, gritty edge, capturing the band’s return to a more visceral sound. The single is set to feature on an extended version of their album Oh! The Ocean, releasing on December 5, 2025.

Kasabian’s brand-new single, ‘Hippie Sunshine,’ slated for their upcoming album Act III due in 2026, signals a return to the band’s foundational sound while crafting a euphoric yet unsettling sonic landscape. Frontman Serge Pizzorno describes the track as an exploration of “the fleeting moment where everything feels light and limitless, yet beneath it lies a deep sense of disconnection.”

James also makes a welcome appearance this week with ‘Wake Up Superman,’ a fiery, socially charged anthem that blends sharp critique with a raw emotional pull, painting a vivid picture of a world in turmoil, where leaders fail and heroes crumble. This is one of two new songs which will feature on the 58-song complete singles compilation Nothing But Love: The Definitive Best Of, due next month.

And that’s just the beginning. The full playlist clocks in at just under two hours this week, packed with new tracks that we think are well worth your time – whether you need the perfect weekend soundtrack or just a much-needed musical reset.

Supporting new artists has always been part of what we’re about. Sharing a track you’ve come across, posting it on socials, or even just adding it to a playlist can go a long way. For artists trying to get their music out there, every bit of support helps.

So if you’ve discovered something we’ve missed, give us a nudge. Whether it’s in the comments, on InstagramFacebookX or via a quick message to Howard Gorman (whose DMs are wide open), we’re always keen to hear what’s next.

Alongside the weekly track picks, our Noteworthy section also features regular videocast interviews with emerging and established artists — the kind of talent we believe deserves your attention. You can watch/rewatch all previous episodes via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of The Slow Readers ClubThe Lottery WinnersThe LilacsStarsailorKyle FalconerCastShed SevenTurin BrakesEmbrace, and many more.
