Apple TV+ Debuts Trailer for Spanish-language Crime Drama “Las Azules” Inspired by Mexico’s First Female Police Force

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the upcoming Spanish-language crime drama “Women in Blue” (“Las Azules”), featuring an all-Hispanic cast and crew, and created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi.

Inspired by true events, this ten-episode series follows the story of four women who defy the ultra-conservative norms of 1971 Mexico by joining the country’s first female police force. However, the squad soon discovers that their appointment is merely a publicity stunt to distract the media from a brutal serial killer. As the body count rises, María (Bárbara Mori), whose determination to catch the killer becomes an obsession, Gabina (Amorita Rasgado), whose father is a renowned cop, Ángeles (Ximena Sariñana), a brilliant fingerprint analyst, and Valentina (Natalia Téllez), a young rebel, launch a secret investigation, determined to succeed where their male counterparts have failed and bring the killer to justice. The series also stars Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappan, and Horacio García Rojas.

Rovzar, Emmy Award nominee Wendy Riss, Erica Sanchez Su, Sandra Solares and International Emmy Award winner Billy Rovzar serve as executive producers. The series is produced for Apple TV+ by Lemon Studios.

“Women in Blue” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. New episodes will then be released weekly through September 25.
