Unbelievable Truth’s Live Recording of Seminal Album ‘Almost Here’ Sets the Stage for New Material in 2025

In anticipation of their highly anticipated 2025 album, the iconic Oxford indie trio Unbelievable Truth are all set to drop a live recording of their seminal 1998 album, ‘Almost Here.’

On November 15, 2024, the band will release a live album recorded during their 2023 shows celebrating the 25th anniversary of their acclaimed album “Almost Here.” Recorded in Oxford and London in September 2023, the live album features the complete “Almost Here” tracklist as well as several bonus tracks from that era, including “From This Height” which was previously only available on the Japanese release and has never before been released digitally.

The band’s hometown show at the iconic Jericho Tavern in Oxford sold out within 5 minutes, prompting them to book a second performance at the prestigious Bush Hall in London. Joined by longtime live guitarist Jim Crosskey and keyboardist Richard Payne, the band recorded this album, which showcases the qualities that made them so beloved. Andy’s gorgeously evocative voice and emotionally resonant lyrics are supported by an intricate, atmospheric, and meticulously arranged musical backing that ranges from near-silent minimalism to spacious rock.

Featuring classic tracks ‘Solved’, ‘Higher Than Reason’ and the epic ‘Building’ (which Oxford’s Nightshift magazine described as “one of the greatest songs to ever come out of Oxford”), this collection offers both longtime fans and newcomers a collection of emotionally-charged, beautiful songs.

A video for ‘From This Height’ will premiere on YouTube (see below) at 7pm on Monday 11th November, featuring never before seen footage from the ‘Almost Here’ tour.

Formed in Oxford in the mid-1990s by Andy Yorke, Jason Moulster and Nigel Powell, Unbelievable Truth became an influential presence in the UK indie music scene. Their unique blend of introspective lyrics, melodic sensibilities, and memorable hooks earned them critical acclaim and a loyal following, at home and internationally. With their albums ‘Almost Here’ and ‘sorrythankyou’, Unbelievable Truth left an indelible mark on the indie music landscape, inspiring countless artists and captivating audiences with their worldwide live performances.
