UK Trailer and Poster Reveal for Gaspar Noé’s Intimate Quasi-Documentary Drama ‘VORTEX’

Picturehouse Entertainment has unveiled a brand-new trailer and poster for visionary director Gaspar Noé‘s (Irreversible, Climax) VORTEX in anticipation of the film’s May 13th UK theatrical release.

Written by Noé after suffering a dangerously severe brain hemorrhage that almost killed him, this hugely intimate quasi-documentary film features two sublime performances from legendary Giallo filmmaker Dario Argento (Suspiria) and Françoise Lebrun (The Diving Bell & The Butterfly) who play an elderly couple stricken by dementia. Vortex premiered at Cannes in 2021 as part of the Premiére strand and also took home the Grand Prix Award at the Ghent Film Festival.

A touchstone in French cinema, replete with visceral visuals, VORTEX reveals an intimate new vision from Noé, who will also be celebrated by the BFI this spring with a cycle dedicated to the iconic filmmaker. This new selection of films will be screened at the same time as the VORTEX premiere.

Throughout May the BFI will present the “CRUEL FLESH: FILMS OF THE NEW FRENCH EXTREMITY” season, programmed by writer, broadcaster, and film programmer Anna Bogutskaya, running at BFI Southbank and on BFI Player; alongside this, BFI Southbank will also the aforementioned cycle, in partnership with Picturehouse Entertainment, celebrating the work of Gasper Noé. In the meantime, we’ll leave you with the brand-new official UK trailer for Vortex.
