‘THE POPE’S EXORCIST’ Trailer Sheds Light on Real Files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican

Sony Pictures has today unleashed the first official trailer for Julius Avery‘s latest venture, the supernatural shocker The Pope’s Exorcist, inspired by the actual files of Father Gabriele Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican.

Directed by Avery, from a screenplay penned by Chester Hastings, R. Dean McCreary and Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Unholy), and starring Academy Award®-winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind), Daniel Zovatto (Don’t Breathe, It Follows), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep, “Midnight Mass”) and Franco Nero (John Wick: Chapter 2), The Pope’s Exorcist follows Amorth as he investigates a young boy’s terrifying possession and ends up uncovering a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has desperately tried to keep hidden.

The Pope’s Exorcist will release only in cinemas on April 7 and, in the meantime, we compel you to enjoy the aforemntioned first full trailer below.
