Revel in the Brilliance of DCI John Luther’s Return in Official “LUTHER: THE FALLEN SUN” Trailer

Netflix has today shared the eagerly awaited official trailer for Luther: The Fallen Sun, the first movie adaptation of the hugely popular British psychological thriller TV series of the same name, and it looks set to take the franchise to new breathtaking heights. But then “you do know the man is nitroglycerin?”, right?

Directed by Jamie Payne, from a screenplay by Neil Cross, Luther: The Fallen Sun is an epic continuation of the award-winning television saga reimagined for film in which a gruesome serial killer is terrorising London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.

The film also stars Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis and Dermot Crowley, who returns as Martin Schenk.

The film is produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, David Ready, Neil Cross and Idris Elba and exec. prodcued by Dan Finlay, Brendan Ferguson, Miki Emmerich, Kris Thykier, Priscilla Parish.

Luther: The Fallen Sun will release in select cinemas on 24th February and on Netflix from 10th March. In the meantime, we’ll leave you to “revel in the brilliance” of the aforementioned trailer.
