Prescribed Terror: Illya Konstantin’s ‘Night of Violence’ to Unleash Deadly Side Effects at FrightFest London

Director Illya Konstantin is set to premiere his debut feature film, Night of Violence, at the opening night of FrightFest London 2025. The screening will take place on Thursday, 21 August, at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square.

The film tackles corporate greed and the opioid crisis through a tense story about a pharmaceutical company celebrating a major legal victory and the release of their drug Azlepta. The celebration turns deadly when masked townspeople, disguised as caterers, attack the office tower. Trapped inside, a small group of employees must fight to survive as they’re hunted one by one in a coordinated assault. With no way out, the survivors push back to make it through the night.

The film stars Gigi Gustin, Russ Russo, Kit Lang, and Caitlin Borek.

For Konstantin, premiering the film at FrightFest is the culmination of years of ambition and hard work. He spoke openly about the risks he took to bring this story to life:

“This is my debut feature, and I didn’t want to play it safe. We shot fast, with heart, and with an incredible team of actors and crew who gave everything. It’s scrappy, angry, satirical, and violent but underneath all the madness is a question we’re still asking: What’s the price of survival in a world driven by profit? I’ve always believed horror is one of the last great frontiers for fearless storytelling. If Night of Violence punches you in the gut and maybe makes you laugh nervously while it does, then we’ve done our job. We’re proud of this one.”

Bringing Night of Violence to FrightFest — an event celebrated for showcasing bold new voices in genre cinema — marks a major milestone for the director and the crew involved.

Night of Violence will world premiere at FrightFest at 11pm BST on Thursday, 21 August at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square.
