Netflix’s Searing ‘SCOOP’ Trailer Pulls Back the Curtain on the Interview That Changed Everything

The world is about to witness an unprecedented behind-the-scenes account of one of the biggest royal scandals in recent memory. Netflix today released the trailer for Philip Martin‘s (“The Crown”) searing new film Scoop, which offers an inside look at the explosive interview that rocked the monarchy.

Based on former Newsnight editor Sam McAlister’s book “Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interview,” Scoop chronicles the relentless reporting and high-stakes negotiations that culminated in Prince Andrew’s disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview about his links to Jeffrey Epstein. Featuring an all-star cast including Billie Piper as McAlister, Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis, Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, Keeley Hawes as Amanda Thirsk and Romola Garai as Esme Wren, the film pulls back the curtain on the tense build-up to Maitlis’ forensic interview of the Prince.

The film is produced by Hilary Salmon & Radford Nevile for The Lighthouse Film & TV and executive produced by Sanjay Singhal for Voltage TV and Sam McAlister.

Scoop releases on Netflix on Friday 5th April, 2024 and in the meantime, we’ll leave you with the trailer that provides a glimpse of this unfiltered look into the bold journalism and palace intrigue that culminated in a sit-down so groundbreaking it made headlines around the world.
