Paramount+ is set to drop “Dexter: Resurrection,” the blood-soaked return of TV’s favorite charming monster. This Friday, July 11th, the Dark Passenger is back on the prowl, as the first two episodes land to kick off a brand new chapter in Dexter’s twisted legacy.
Picking up just weeks after Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) took a near-fatal bullet from his own son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), the new series finds the titular antihero coming round from a coma to discover Harrison has vanished. Haunted by the mess he’s left behind, Dexter tears through New York City on a fevered mission to set things right—or at least as right as a man like him can.
But redemption won’t come easy. Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) is on the hunt, and Dexter’s past sins are closing in fast.
Alongside Hall, Alcott, and Zayas, the star-studded cast features James Remar, Uma Thurman, Neil Patrick Harris, and Krysten Ritter. Meanwhile, showrunner Clyde Phillips returns to steer the ship, having previously masterminded Dexter and Dexter: New Blood.
Ahead of Dexter’s much-anticipated dark comeback, CinemaChords’ Howard Gorman caught up with James Remar and Jack Alcott to unpack what fresh hell awaits. Remar shares how he feels this season throws Harry’s fragile hope for Dexter’s redemption into sharp relief. Also, Alcott unpacks Harrison’s simmering dark urges in “Resurrection,” reflecting on how they expand—and perhaps even upend—what we thought we knew about Dexter’s Dark Passenger.
