Interview: Behind the Intense Action of ‘THE LAST GUNFIGHT’ with James Bamford

Paramount Global unleashes James Bamford’s (High Ground, Man With No Past) latest high-stakes thriller, The Last Gunfight this week. Known for his stunt work on titles like “Arrow” and Hard Home, Bamford brings his signature high-octane, action-packed style to this gripping new thriller. Seamlessly combining intense fight choreography with ticking-clock suspense, The Last Gunfight delivers relentless tension and heart-pounding stakes.

Starring Jon Voight, Rade Šerbedžija, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Adam Woodward, Charlotte Vega, Shaina West, and Daniel Bernhardt, the film centers on a ruthless underground tournament where the world’s deadliest assassins battle to the death. Hidden among them is a rogue crew with a deadly agenda: infiltrate the competition, survive the bloodbath, and take down the mastermind orchestrating it all. As alliances shift and bodies pile up, the real fight becomes not just one for survival, but for revenge – and a fortune worth killing for.

To mark the film’s VOD and digital release on May 27, 2025, CinemaChords sat down with Bamford to discuss the explosive action and high-stakes battles that define The Last Gunfight. He also shares how his extensive stunt background shaped his direction, bringing expertly choreographed, adrenaline-fueled sequences to life on screen.
