‘I Don’t Understand You’ Trailer Sends Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells Into Catastrophic Babymoon Meltdown

Just when you thought your vacation horror story was bad, along comes I Don’t Understand You to raise the bar, leave the map, and bury the GPS in a ditch somewhere in rural Italy. Vertical has just dropped the first official trailer for the upcoming dark comedy from Brian Crano (Permission, A Bag of Hammers) & David Joseph Craig (“Las Santeras”), and it’s a deliciously chaotic glimpse into what happens when your picture-perfect babymoon takes a hard left into what-the-hell-is-going-on territory.

The film stars Nick Kroll (Sausage Party, Adult Beginners) and Andrew Rannells (Another Simple Favor, Bachelorette) as Dom and Cole, a couple who decide to savor one last romantic getaway before diving into the chaos of parenthood. The plan? Strolls through sun-drenched villages, pasta under the stars, maybe a Vespa ride or two. The reality? A nightmare road trip from hell. One wrong turn, one ditch, and suddenly they’re stranded in the Italian countryside during a rainstorm with no cell signal, no help in sight, and no clue what anyone is saying. Cue panic, bickering, and a slow descent into absolute madness — all wrapped in a stylish, old-school comedy veneer.

Also in the mix are Morgan Spector, Nunzia Schiano, Eleanora Romandini, Paolo Romano, and Amanda Seyfried, whose appearances are sure to add a dose of unexpected high jinx to the mix.

Filmmakers Crano and Craig promise an “old school, dark, twisted comedy” experience. “Kroll and Rannells are the dream team comic duo,” they said in a joint statement. “The trailer is just a sneak peek at what’s to come!”

I Don’t Understand You hits theaters June 6, 2025 and we’ll leave you with the trailer that promises a summer must-watch for fans of sharp dialogue, escalating absurdity, and fish-out-of-water chaos. Pack your phrasebooks, and maybe skip that remote countryside Airbnb this year…
