Hugh Grant’s Heavenly Villain Puts Entertaining Twist on Holy Horror in New ‘HERETIC’ Trailer

Question everything! Seeing is believing!

A24 have today dropped a brand new trailer for Scott Beck and Bryan Woods‘ (Haunt65) spine-chilling psychological shocker, Heretic fresh off its immense buzz-generating world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and starring Hugh Grant (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among ThievesExtreme Measures), Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”, The Boogeyman), Chloe East (The FabelmansThe Wolf of Snow Hollow), Heretic follows two young Mormon missionaries who find themselves cought up in a terrifying quandary when they inadvertently knock on the door of the diabolical Mr. Reed (Grant). Drawn into his sinister game of cat-and-mouse, the unsuspecting missionaries are forced to put their faith to the ultimate test.

The film also features Elle McKinnon, River Codack, Carolyn Adair, Stephanie Lavigne, and Elle Young.

After premiering at TIFF, the film received acclaim, with Indiewire describing it as a “brilliant, nerve-jangling horror movie” and IGN praising the premise for it’s “clever spin on holy horror.”

We’ll leave you with the new trailer which provides a taste of the series of sinister schemes Grant’s character plans to hatch to torment his victims when Heretic receives a wide theatrical release on November 15, 2024.
