‘Giant’ Trailer: Biopic Charts Prince Naz’s Rise from Sheffield Streets to Global Knockout

True Brit Entertainment has today unleashed the first official trailer for Rowan Athale‘s (“Gangs of London,” Strange But True) Giant. This is the explosive true story of Prince Naseem ‘Naz’ Hamed, the British-Yemeni showman who danced, dazzled, and knocked his way from the streets of Sheffield to the top of the boxing world under the training of Irish-born boxing coach Brendan Ingle.

Written and directed by Athale, Giant packs a heavyweight cast with Pierce Brosnan (Mrs. DoubtfireMamma Mia, and the James Bond franchise) stepping into the corner as Brendan Ingle, and Amir El-Masry (RosewaterA Haunting in VeniceIn Camera) lacing up the gloves as Prince Naseem Hamed. Set on the gritty streets of Sheffield, the film tells the real-deal story of a steelworker-turned-trainer and a flashy young fighter with lightning speed, knockout power, and zero interest in playing it humble. Together, they tore through boxing’s ranks, broke moulds, and shook up a sport that wasn’t ready for them — all while taking on the ignorance and prejudice of ‘80s and ‘90s Britain.

The film is produced by Mark Lane of Tea Shop Productions and Kevin Sampson of White Star Productions, as announced today by AGC Chairman and CEO Stuart Ford, who will also produce. AGC Studios and BondIt Media Capital financed the film.

Executive production comes from Sylvester Stallone and Braden Aftergood of Balboa Productions, AGC Studios’ Miguel Palos and Zach Garrett, BondIt’s Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Tyler Gould, Michael Ewing and True Brit’s Zygi Kamasa.
Zygi Kamasa’s True Brit Entertainment acquired UK distribution rights with AGC International handling international sales on the title.

Commenting on the script, Zygi Kamasa, CEO of True Brit Entertainment said: “Dramatic, visceral and inspiring with incredible boxing scenes, this is exactly the kind of British film audiences want to see in the cinema.”

Giant will be stepping into cinemas soon, exclusively on the big screen. Until then, enjoy the aforementioned trailer that’s sure to knock you into another dimension.
