Artist Richard J. Evans portrays Ghibli classics in pixel art.
Legendary director Hayao Miyazaki is said to be hanging up his boots once and for all with his latest film The Wind Rises. He has directed much loved films such as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and Howl’s Moving Castle and so it is with bittersweet anticipation which we look forward to finally seeing his last picture.
Artist Richard J. Evans set about paying his tribute to the imagination and characters of the studio’s films by creating 8-bit style recreations of famous scenes. These are a rather unusual take and we have acknowledge Evans‘ bold decision to re-approach the normally fluid and beautiful animation through a very different scope. They should be seen by any fan of these wonderful films and so we have laid out a selection of them below for you to browse at your leisure.
