Principal photography is underway on location in Paris and London for the new Studiocanal production “Paris Has Fallen,” a high octane original series for CANAL+, produced in partnership with CANAL+, Urban Myth Films, Millenium and G-Base. The 8 episode series, based on the hugely succesful “Has Fallen” film franchise is penned by Howard Overman (“War of The Worlds,” “Misfits”) and produced by Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps for Urban Myth Films, a STUDIOCANAL company. Oded Ruskin (No Man’s Land, Drops Of God) is executive directing the series alongside Hans Herbots (The Serpent).
The series features an international cast headed up by Tewfik Jallab (“Spiral,” “Black Hearts”), who stars as protection officer Vincent Taleb, and Ritu Arya (“The Umbrella Academy”) as MI6 operative Zara Taylor. The talented cast also includes Sean Harris (Mission Impossible: Fallout), Ana Ularu (“Emerald City”), Camille Rutherford (Blue Is The Warmest Colour), Jérémie Covillault (Tell No One), Emmanuelle Bercot (My King) and Karl Collins (Attack The Block).
The series chronicles how, when a terrorist group led by the villainous Jacob Pearce attacks a high-profile event, with the French Minister of Defence as their target, protection officer Vincent Taleb finds himself working with street-smart MI6 operative Zara Taylor to save the day. But when events take a dark turn, Vincent and Zara soon realize that the plan extends beyond just one politician. When they suspect that one of their colleagues in the security services is feeding information to Jacob, Vincent and Zara find themselves needing to rely only on each other. Increasingly isolated and with Jacob always one step ahead, can this unlikely pair stop Paris from falling to a man hell-bent on vengeance?
