Bughuul is back in the trailer for SINISTER 2

Back in 2012 director Scott Derrickson terrified audiences with his supernatural horror film SINISTER as it performed incredibly well on the world box office. Starring Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance and James Ransone, Sinister told the story of Ellison, a true-crime writer who finds a stash of 8mm home movies each showing a series of ghastly murders. Delving deeper into the mystery he soon discovers that the films are the work of a serial killer whose career dates back to the 1960s. As with any well performing horror film comes with it the possibility to kick-start a new franchise so it came as no surprise when it was announced back in August 2014 that the sequel was going into production.

For the sequel Scott Derrickson has passed over his directorial duties. However, naysayers have no need to worry as SINISTER 2 is directed by Ciarán Foy who previously delivered the shocking horror Citadel. The upcoming sequel will see Shannyn Sossamon as Courtney, a single mother living in an isolated farm house that is marked for death. After one of her sons discovers a familiar stash of home movies, Courtney is thrust into a supernatural world where she must fight to save her own life and the lives of her sons. Sinister 2 will also see the return of James Ransone who reprises his role from the first film as Deputy So & So.

Not seven months after the initial announcement of the sequel the first trailer for SINISTER 2 has been released and we can’t wait to check it out. In the meantime, those lucky enough to have seen Citadel you know very well that Ciarán Foy knows what it takes to terrify his audiences so fans of the first film can rest well knowing that that the franchise has been left in good hands.

SINISTER 2 is scheduled for release in cinemas across the UK on 21st August, 2015.
