Brand-New Bangers: Noteworthy Nods 2025: Batch #3

Welcome to Noteworthy Nods, your go-to for the freshest indie music singles of the week. We’ve scoured streaming platforms and taken recommendations from our readers to bring you the cream of the crop in the indie music scene. Each week, we highlight emerging artists and hidden gems that deserve your attention.

Last week, we showcased tracks from the likes of Bilk, Pit Pony, Lottery Winners, and Mumford & Sons—don’t miss out on that playlist (here) if you haven’t yet.

This week, we’re excited to share a new single from Lock-In, featuring sun-soaked grooves and sparkling guitars reminiscent of Bombay Bicycle Club and Foals. The Lathums deliver a glam firecracker with “Heartbreaker,” from their upcoming third album, Matter Does Not Define. Courting‘s second tantalizing single, “After You,” from their highly anticipated third album, Lust for Life, Or: How To Thread The Needle And Come Out The Other Side To Tell The Story, is also on our radar. Plus, we’re eagerly anticipating The Murder Capital’s forthcoming album Blindness, with their latest single “The Fall” giving us high hopes for what’s to come. And these are just a few of the amazing tracks we’ve discovered this week.

Enjoy this week’s essential playlist and let us (and the artists) know which tracks you’re adding to your repeat rotation by tweeting us. Happy listening!

Aside from the aforementioned track recommendations, our Noteworthy section includes weekly videocast interviews featuring musical talent we hope are either already or, about to become your new favorite artists. You can catch up on all previous interview via the video playlist (here) featuring the likes of Evan Dando – featured in NME, Patrick DuffShed SevenTurin BrakesEmbraceRed Rum ClubThe K’sThe SherlocksThe Slow Readers ClubStanleysThe NativeThe Clause, and many more.

Oh, and in case you missed it, we also wrapped up last year’s Nods season with a Best of 2024 playlist, which you can check out here.
