Lionsgate has today debuted the official trailer for Asif Akbar‘s (The Curse of the Clown Motel, Skeletons in the Closet) chilling crime-thriller Boneyard, based on a true crime story.
Directed by Akbar, from a script co-write with Vincent E. Mcdaniel, Hank Byrd, and Koji Steven Sakai, Boneyard chronicles the launch of an extensive investigation when the skeletal remains of eleven women and girls are discovered in the New Mexico desert. The film follows Police Chief Carter (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson – Southpaw, Den of Thieves), Detective Ortega (Brian Van Holt – Sweet Dreams, Den of Thieves), and Agent Petrovick (Mel Gibson – Dragged Across Concrete, Lethal Weapon) in a multi-agency effort to identify and apprehend the killer. As each of their agendas and methods clash, a tangled web of intrigue casts suspicion in all directions.
Boneyard is produced by Colin Bates (Kidnap, Maggie) and will release on VOD nationwide (US/ Canada) on July 2 and in US theaters July 5.
