Apple TV+ Historical Spoof “The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin” Renewed for Second Season

“The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin,” the whimsical historical portmanteau dramedy show that captivated audiences with its fanciful reimagining of the legendary 18th century highwayman, has been renewed for a second season by streaming giant Apple TV+.

Starring Noel Fielding (“The Mighty Boosh”, Brakes) as the iconic British brigand, this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century presents Dick as the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is largely defined by his charm, showmanship and, of course, if Fielding is involved, great hair. Along with his band of lovable rogues, Dick experiences the highs and lows of his new adventures, including a brush with celebrity, while trying to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker.

Alongside Fielding, the first season showcased a wealth of exceptional British comedy talent including Ellie White, Joe Wilkinson, Marc Wooton and Greg Davies, and Apple have today confirmed that Season 2 will also promises another round of fantastical adventures “with a host of great British comedy talent.”

“The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin” is produced for Apple TV+ by Big Talk Studios, part of ITV Studios, and written by Fielding, Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain.

The series is executive produced by Kenton Allen, Big Talk Studios (multi-BAFTA Award-winning producer of “Rev.,” “The Outlaws,” “Friday Night Dinner”), Noel Fielding, Victoria Grew, Big Talk Studios (“Back,” “We Are Not Alone”), Anthony Wilcox (“This England”) and Ben Palmer (BAFTA TV Award and Rose d’Or Award winning “The Inbetweeners,” and “The Inbetweeners Movie”), with Richard Naylor and Jon Brittain as co-executive producers. The series will be directed by Ben Palmer.
