’80s Revenge Thriller ‘STONE COLD FOX’ Expands Cast As Production Begins in Los Angeles

As Sophie Tabet‘s action-thriller Stone Cold Fox enters production in Los Angeles, Mishel Prada (The Continental, “Riverdale”) has been confirmed to be joining the previously announced cast members Kiernan Shipka (Longlegs, Totally Killer), Kiefer Sutherland (“24”, Young Guns, Eye for an Eye), and Krysten Ritter (“Jessica Jones”, “Breaking Bad”).

In this 1980s-set revenge thriller, directed by Tabet from a script the filmmaker co-wrote with Julia Roth, the protagonist, Fox (Shipka), embarks on a journey of self-discovery and survival after escaping an abusive commune in search of her family. However, when the merciless queenpin (Ritter) abducts Fox’s younger sister and sends a corrupt police officer (Sutherland) to hunt her down, Fox is forced to infiltrate the very commune she risked everything to leave.

Prada will star as Frankie, an ex-combat medic who teams up with Shipka’s character to rescue her kidnapped sister from the abusive commune Frankie once belonged to. Frankie is a fierce, skilled former army officer haunted by the mental health consequences of combat, who bravely confronts the commune and a corrupt cop to help save the day.

The film is also set to star Lorenza Izzo (Knock Knock, The Green Inferno), Jamie Chung (“Dexter: New Blood”, Reunion) and Karen Fukuhara (“The Boys”, Bullet Train).

Commenting on the film, Tabet said that, “Stone Cold Fox is a love letter to the American action films of the ’80s, but one that gives women, immigrants and queer characters seats at the table … I’m beyond excited to make this ass-kicking, high-octane film about the complexities of non-belonging and making your own family as a means of survival.”

Verve Ventures and the UTA Independent Film Group hold the worldwide distribution rights, which will be represented by both companies. The producers attached to the project include Tabet, Roth, Bee-Hive’s Stephen Braun, The Wonder Company’s Eric B. Fleischman, Chris Abernathy, and Jonathan Craven. Additionally, Joe Roth will serve as executive producer.
