Vehicular Destruction Aplenty As Full ‘BEVERLY HILLS COP: AXEL F’ Trailer Crashes In

Following last December’s sneak-peek teaser, Netflix has today debuted the first full trailer for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, and it’s still hard to believe that it’s been all of 40 years since the original catapulted Eddie Murphy to superstardom and went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of 1984. The new footage suggests the character’s signature wit, charm, and fish-out-of-water hijinks remain fully intact.

Directed by Mark Molloy, from a script penned by Will Beall (AquamanGangster Squad) and Tom Gormican & Kevin Etten (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F sees Detective Axel Foley (Murphy) back on the beat in 90210. This time his daughter’s life (Taylour Paige) is in threat so she teams up with her father and new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.

The ensemble casts is rounded out with Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot and Kevin Bacon.

Commenting on the long-awaited sequel, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said “Eddie’s such an incredible artist. He can do drama, he can do comedy – he can do anything. And he’s the same Axel Foley. He’s still on the streets. He’s still doing what he does. Obviously with age you get wiser. But he still has the twinkle in his eye.”

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F releases globally on Netflix Summer 2024 and we’ll leave you with the trailer for a taster of just how much Beverly Hills has changed since Foley last paid a visit.
