STUDIOCANAL Debuts Trailer for RKSS’ Ultraviolent Survival Shocker ‘WAKE UP’

Raise Awareness! Raise Hell!

The acclaimed directing trio RKSS (Turbo Kid, We Are Zombies), composed of Anouk Whissell, Yoann-Karl Whissell, and François Simard, are back with a brand new project and STUDIOCANAL has today debuted the official trailer. The feature is a taut, ultraviolent survival feature called Wake Up and formed part of the official selections at last year’s Fantastic Fest, Sitges Film Festival and Paris International Fantastic Film Festival, to name just a few.

Starring Benny O.Arthur (“Django”), Jacqueline Moré (The Anarchists’s Dream), Charlotte Stoiber (Downfall), Kyle Scudder (In Love All Over Again), and newcomers Alessia Yoko Fontana and Tom Gould, Wake Up follows a group of young activists who set out to make an environmental statement by vandalizing a furniture superstore as it closes. But their plan goes terribly wrong when they become trapped inside and must face a deranged security guard with a gruesome passion for primitive hunting. As the night descends into violence and terror, the teenagers are forced into a desperate battle for their survival.

The screenplay was written by Alberto Marini (Summer Camp, Sleep Tight) based on an original idea from Martin Soudan, and produced by Borsalino Productions and STUDIOCANAL.

Commenting on the film, RKSS said, “As soon as we read the script, the core concept and the timely subject were so compelling to us, that we immediately could visualize the film and we knew we had to direct it and bring our own signature into the project … A slasher in a closed furniture store and warehouse makes an exciting playground for sure.”

The trailer says that the film is “coming soon” so we hope to be able to confirm an official release date very soon.
