New Teaser Released for ‘MOGWAI: IF THE STARS HAD A SOUND’ Documentary ahead of SXSW World Premiere

Prepare to be captivated by the world of legendary Scottish post-rock band Mogwai with tomorrow’s SXSW premiere of Mogwai: If the Stars Had a Sound. Directed by longtime collaborator Antony Crook, this compelling new documentary offers an intimate look at the band’s journey from their humble beginnings in Glasgow’s ’90s music scene to their current status as genre-defining icons.

Filmed with unprecedented access, the film captures Mogwai’s unwavering commitment to their signature sound, from writing and rehearsing their landmark tenth album during the challenges of the 2020 lockdown, to their electrifying live performances punctuated by stunning visuals.

Produced by Blazing Griffin, Adler Entertainment, Rock Action Records and Screen Scotland, MOGWAI: IF THE STARS HAD A SOUND promises to be a truly unmissable front-row seat to the inner workings and ongoing evolution of these legendary sonic pioneers. Don’t miss the SXSW world premiere tomorrow, 12 March 2024 at 14:30 at the Zach Theatre, followed by a very special live show featuring Mogwai alongside avant-garde rock legends De Facto, the cult Dub & Electronica group of Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala, best known as the founding members of At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta, whose own documentary, Omar and Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird, also premieres at the festival. Local monolithic drone supergroup Water Damage (members of Black Eyes, Spray Paint, Marriage, USA/Mexico, Swans) open the night.

This is a must-see event for any fan of Mogwai or compelling music documentary.
