Visually Stunning Trailer for The Young and Prodigious Spivet

Last May saw The Young and Prodigious Spivet get picked up for US distribution by the Weinstein Company. The film, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Micmacs) is an adaptation of the illustrated novel “The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet” by Reif Larsen and will star newcomer Kyle-Catlett in the lead role as Spivet, a young inventor, alongside co-stars Helena Bonham Carter, Niamh Wilson and Judy Davis.

The novel was a charming piece of work in its own right, with each turn of a page revealing a different diagram, illustration or map. Given the stunning visuals on display in the trailer below it’s no surprise that the film is already planned for an IMAX release when it hits France this October.

Although there is no date slated for a UK release date just yet, the film’s world premiere will be very close to home as it closes this year’s San Sebastián Film Festival on the 28th of September. Jeunet will be putting in an appearance to introduce the film himself, accompanied by both Kyle Catlett and Helena Bonham Carter.

We’ll leave you with the trailer below, followed by a number of stunning photos showing off the amazing visuals of the film (click for full size images):
